The number of people waiting over 12 hours to be seen in local emergency departments has rocketed by over 360% in the last year.
The latest figures released by the Department of Health compared waiting times from April to June 2017 and April to June 2018.
The statistics show the number of people waiting longer than 12 hours increased from 294 in June 2017 compared to 1,358 in June 2018.
The figures also revealed that the number of people going to emergency departments in the same period greatly increased by 2,897.
Despite this rise, 72% of patients were treated and discharged or admitted within four hours.
