Residents evacuated from their homes during a security alert in Londonderry have been allowed to return, despite the alert continuing.
The alarm was raised in the Ederowen Park area on Wednesday evening and continued overnight.
On Thursday, cordons were reduced, but police thanked residents for their patience while the security operation remained ongoing.

Translink's new Glider buses, for the Rapid Transit scheme, have gone on display in Belfast City Centre.
The company hope the buses could cut journey times by around 25 percent, when they come into operation next year.
It is hoped they will help transform public transport in the city, with each vehicle potentially removing 80 cars from the roads and clearing up to half a kilometre of traffic.

A masked man has threatened staff at a Portadown bingo hall with a hatchet before escaping with a sum of cash.
It happened at around 9pm on Tuesday night.
The man is described as being around 6' 3", of medium build and wearing a hooded top and dark jeans.
The distinctive-looking top had a lighter coloured lining to the hood.
No-one was injured in the incident.
Detectives investigating the robbery are appealing for anyone with information to contact Lurgan CID on 101, quoting reference number 1294 for 12/12/17.
