Police say officers in the Paramilitary Crime Taskforce have arrested a 37-year-old woman as part of ongoing investigations into the organised criminal activites of the north Belfast UVF.

The woman was arrested in the Newtownabbey area, on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

She was taken to Antrim Police station for questioning.

The arrest was the latest in a joint operation between the PSNI, HM Revenue and Customs and the National Crime Agency - a concerted effort to clamp down on paramilitary activity.
