A Pembrokeshire man's been accused of torturing and killing a 66 year old grandmother to get money to pay for his wedding. John Mason from Llandissilio is accused of bludgeoning Angelika Dries-Jenkins around the head at her home in Narbeth last June.
Mr Mason, 54, denies all charges. The jury was told on Tuesday that he was after the pensioner's bank card number to take a thousand pounds from her savings account.
Swansea Crown Court heard that the defendant, John William Mason, had posed as a council workman in order to trick her.
Angelika Dries-Jenkins was found dead by her daughter on 3rd June 2011, two days before her 67th birthday. She had suffered severe head injuries. The trial continues.
