In addition to our news output, we broadcast 90 minutes of dedicated programming about Wales on ITV every week.
Established brands include the investigative current affairs series Wales This Week, the consumer affairs programme The Ferret and the feature series Fishlock’s Wales. The weekly political programme Sharp End, with Political Editor Adrian Masters, looks at Welsh politics and Time of Your Life makes use of ITV’s rich and extensive archive material.
Programmes for S4C
ITV also has a strong commercial relationship with Welsh language broadcaster S4C, providing some of its most successful current affairs, factual and factual entertainment programming.
Programmes include current affairs series Y Byd ar Bedwar and Hacio, and the rural affairs show Cefn Gwlad. The most recent commission signals the return of Sion a Sian, the popular “Mr& Mrs” format.
Co-productions with S4C in 2012 are Welsh Air Ambulance and a programme about HMS Sir Galahad, marking the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War.
For thirty years, Wales This Week has been ITV’s flagship current affairs programme in Wales, offering a diverse range of investigations, human interest stories and analysis of some of the biggest issues facing the country.
Presented by Jonathan Hill, the award-winning series ranges from documentaries shot over many months to fast reactions to major breaking news events.
Sharp End is ITV’s weekly look at the world of Welsh politics. As well as the latest from Cardiff Bay and Westminster, the programme includes reports from around Wales on the impact of decisions taken by the Welsh and UK governments.
The programme is presented by our Political Editor Adrian Masters, with in-depth interviews and wide-ranging studio discussions. The Sharp End team also produce political coverage for Wales Tonight and other news programmes, together with a comprehensive service online
