Billion-pound Airbus deal with Indonesian airline

An Indonesian airline has placed an order for several A330 planes with aircraft manufacturer, Airbus.

The announcement came as David Cameron arrived in Indonesia on the latest leg of his South East Asia trade mission.

The Prime Minister said the deal would "safeguard" jobs at the company's manufacturing plant in Broughton in north Wales.

Airbus said the list price of an A330 is £145 million, of which 11 were bought.

This deal between Airbus and GarudaIndonesia is great news for the UK aerospace industry. It will safeguard jobsat the design facility in Bristol and the manufacturing plant in Broughton in north Wales.

The UK aerospace sector is the second largest in the world worth some £23 billion to Britain.
