First Minister's trade visit to India
First Minister Carwyn Jones is embarking on the first day of trade visit to India. He will be accompanied by a delegation of Welsh business and academics, with the aim of raising Wales' profile as a place to do business.
The visit begins in New Delhi, where the group will meet representatives from the Indian Government, before hosting an event to promote Wales as a tourism destination.
In recent months, similar trade visits have been made to the US and China. Mr Jones said that foreign visits were 'profitable' in terms of creating jobs in Wales.
– Carwyn Jones AM, First MinisterWe're following up a lot of leads from China and the US. If you don't ask, you don't get. If you don't go places and make yourself known, other people will do it - and they'll get the investment
While in New Delhi, Mr Jones is also set to launch the products of a South Wales based beauty-product business, and attend a cultural event with the British Council aimed at highlighting how Cardiff is hosting the 2013 Womex world music showcase.
