Wales Millennium Centre will have the ten millionth pair of feet through its doors this month. It's a major milestone for the landmark venue in Cardiff Bay, which opened in November 2004.
The arts centre houses theatres for musicals, opera, ballet and dance, as well at being home to cafes and arts organisations. Welcoming more than one million visitors per year, it's Wales' leading tourist attraction.
The Millennium Centre has not been an unqualified success though. The £100-million first phase finally opened late in 2004, three years behind schedule. The Welsh Assembly Government was then heavily criticised for the way the project was financed, after writing off £13.5-million debts and increasing its funding.
To celebrate the landmark visitor figure, anyone who visits before Saturday will have the chance to win a year's worth of theatre tickets.
Jane Solomons went to see what's made the venue so successful.
