A decision on whether Wales coach, Warren Gatland, will lead his side on their Australia tour will be made "closer to the time", Gatland's wife has reportedly told a New Zealand newspaper.
Gatland is preparing for surgery after he broke both of his heels when he fell whilst window cleaning at his family holiday home at Wahi Beach.
He had been due to return to Wales this week following time off after he led Wales to the RBS 6 Nations title and a Grand Slam last month.
The Welsh Rugby Union say if Gatland isn't fit enough to coach the team Down Under then assistant coach Rob Howley will take his place.
Trude Gatland told the Waikato Times that she was glad her husband had not landed on his head, and that he was "being very brave, but it is very painful."
