CCTV footage taken from an attempted robbery at a Merthyr betting shop hopes to encourage people to come forward with information.
The attempted robbery happened on Monday at around 2 o'clock in the morning when a jeep reversed through the glass doors of the betting shop, which is in the Market Square area of the town.
Three men headed for the shop counter - one holding a crowbar - and a fourth person stayed in the car. Almost as soon as they arrived at the counter, the three men headed back to the car and drove away.
South Wales Police suspect they had lost their nerve and underestimated the shop's security. They left with nothing but caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.
The car that reversed into the betting shop, a dark coloured Diahatsu Fourtak was recovered, having been dumped nearby at Kingsley Terrace. The car was stolen from New Tredegar, Gwent.
