The Ministry of Defence says a soldier from 1st Battalion Welsh Guards and an airman from the Royal Air Force were killed yesterday in the Lashkar Gah province of Afghanistan. The British servicemen were providing security for a meeting with local officials near the patrol base Attal. It's not known if the attackers were insurgents dressed as Afghan police or disaffected officers. It brings the number of UK military deaths in Afghanistan to 414.
