Part of a West Wales town will come to a standstill on Friday afternoon as professional cycling hits its streets. Aberystwyth will host the only Welsh leg of the Halfords Tour Series. Ten teams will be battling it out on a circuit that includes parts of Aberystwyth's seafront.

The town is one of eleven venues across the UK where the series will hold stages during May and June. The Endura Racing team has won the first two rounds. Local interest for the welsh crowd will include spotting Aberystwyth rider Dan Davies who's part of the Team Wallis squad while the Team UK Youth includes Yanto Barker from Machynlleth and Gruff Lewis from Penrhyncoch.

The professional race will start at 7pm after an afternoon of racing involving local cycling clubs and more than a 150 schoolchildren. The Aberystwyth stage of the Halfords Tour Series will be featured on ITV4.
