Steve Khaireh, from Grangetown in Cardiff, has also been recognised for services to Young People in Cardiff.

Although Steve is modest about receiving the award, those around him say there is nobody more deserving.

The Secretary of State for Wales, Cheryl Gillan has espressed her congratulations to the Welsh people honoured in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours List.

I'm delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to everyone who has been recognised in today's Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Each and every one of them has been selected for their dedication, commitment and tireless work in helping to improve the lives of others, and these awards are a testament to the esteem in which they are held in their communities. Congratulations to you all.
