The search for a man believed to have fallen into the River Usk at Llanfaes Bridge in Brecon has resumed.

The RAF Search and Rescue helicopter has again been deployed and officers will be making house to house inquiries throughout the village.

Rescue crews were forced to call off the search yesterday afternoon after swollen and fast-flowing waters made it too dangerous to continue.

The 54-year-old man is thought to have fallen into the river in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The initial search had involved teams from Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue, Brecon Mountain Rescue and an RAF Search and Rescue helicopter.
