Despite a last minute cancellation of Jessie J's concert, Ponty's Big Weekend gets going tonight.

Tonight, Olly Murs will take the headline spot, with Alfie Boe performing on Sunday evening.

Last night, Jessie J's headline concert was cancelled, after it was confirmed that the singer was suffering with a virus. Organisers have confirmed that all tickets for Friday night's concert will be fully refunded from Monday July 23.

Nothing can dampen the spirits as the finishing touches are put to this flagship event. Despite the ongoing rain and the cancellation of Jessie J, the rest of the weekend’s events will go ahead and the Council is keen to reassure people that a huge amount of work has gone into preparations.

Organisers are still expecting the crowds to flock to Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, promising that Ponty's Big Weekend 2012 will be 'even bigger and better than before'.
