Welsh beef and lamb exports brought in a record £240 million pounds to the economy last year - that's according to Meat Promotion Wales.

The body, which markets Welsh meat in the UK and overseas, says it was a 'staggering achievement' and beats the 2010 figure by more than fifty million pounds.

The official announcement will be made later at the Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd.

Welsh lamb is now a global brand, known throughout the world for its quality and superior taste. It not only represents all that is best about our farming industry - it also flies the flag for Wales across the world.
