London 2012 Day 11 - Boxers hope for semi-final spot

Fred Evans and Andrew Selby are hoping to make it a double delight for Welsh boxing today when they both look to progress to the semi-finals of the London 2012 Olympics and secure at least a bronze medal.

Both boxers, who fight in the Welterweight and Flyweight divisions respectively have impressed in the opening bouts of the Olympic competition, with many tipping Evans in particular to bring home a medal.

They will head a strong Welsh contingent or the British team of day 11 of the games.

In the 470 class sailing regatta Cardiff skipper Hannah Mills and partner Saskia Clarke gave the opportunity to put further distance between themselves and the chasing fleet when they take to the water for races seven and eight of the 11 race series.

They currently sit top of the rankings after six races.

On the track this morning, Christian Malcolm went through in his 200m qualifier, coming in second place in 20.59.

I expected a little bit more this morning, but I'm not an early morning person and the main thing is to qualify.
