The Ospreys suffered defeat in their latest pre-season game against Bath at the Liberty Stadium.
The English Premiership side were 18-0 up at half time, and despite a better second half showing, the reigning Rabodirect pro12 champions were second best.
Bath's first try came just short of the half hour mark. After a series of forward drives near the home line, skipper Lee Mears powered through the gap to score. It was an impressive burst from the hooker, although Ian Evans will have been disappointed to miss the tackle.
The conversion from Sam Vesty, who'd earlier slotted two penalties, gave the English outfit a 13-0 lead, which they extended shortly before the interval. Richard Fussell and Tom Isaacs made a mess of a well directed up-and-under, allowing winger Olly Woodburn to break clear. The Bath flyer was tackled, but off-loaded to Dan Hipkiss, with the centre showing good pace to score in the corner.
With both sides able to field an entirely new team from the bench if required, there were changes aplenty after the break. And the Ospreys at least enjoyed the better of things in the final forty. Dan Biggar scored a penalty, before scrum half Khan Fotuali'i and Justin Tipuric instigated a long range attack. Captain Tipuric was hauled down, but the ball was spread wide for replacement Tom Graham to score.
It wasn't enough, however, and Bath held on for a 21-10 victory.
Elsewhere the Blues lost to Gloucester 20-8, and the Scarlets, playing their first game under new coach Simon Easterby, went down 22-7 at Worcester.
