Llandudno man charged with attempted murder

A 66-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after two people were stabbed in Llandudno on Monday.

Sean Tierney appeared before magistrates on Wednesday. No application for bail was made. He will remain in custody at Caernarfon Crown Court until September 3.

Neighbours of the accused, Nigel and Margery Gibbs, who are both in their 60s, were taken to Glan Clwyd hospital with knife wounds. Both are said to be in a stable condition.

Police were called to the home in Ffordd Dulyn at around lunchtime on Monday. Shortly after the man from Llandudno was arrested.

The man appeared before magistrates on Wednesday. No application for bail was made. He will remain in custody at Caernarfon Crown Court until September 3.

North Wales Police are appealing to people who were in the area at around midday on Monday and may have information.
