An announcement is expected to be made today naming Warren Gatland as head coach for the 2013 British and Irish Lions tour.

Wales's Grand Slam winning coach has been widely-tipped for the role in the lead up to the announcement, and if selected he will be the second overseas coach to take charge of the squad.

Today it's expected that he will be confirmed as the man to lead the Lions tour in Australia next summer.

Gatland previously served as forwards coach during the last Lions tour to South Africa in 2009.

If selected, he will take a sabbatical from his Wales role for much of this season to focus on his new role. He's also expected to miss this season's Six Nations and summer tour of Japan.
