The funeral of a soldier killed in Afghanistan has been held in Wrexham.
Guardsman Jamie Shadrake, of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards, died of gunshot wounds on August 17 when his checkpoint was attacked by insurgents in the Nahr-e Saraj district.
He had turned 20 just three days before.
Guardsman Shadrake was brought up in South Wales and later moved with his family to Wrexham.
In tribute following his death, his family described him as a 'tremendous son and brother.'
They said: "He was proud to be a soldier and died doing a job he loved."
His commanding officer, Lt Col James Bowder MBE, described him as an 'extraordinary young man.'
Today's service, with full military honours, took place at St Giles Church in Wrexham.
