Bright & showery today but rain later

Monday starts off bright and sunny with showers already getting going early on in the day. There could be some lingering mist and fog patches around too. Later on more cloud builds from the west and eventually turns wet from the west leading to a wet night overnight into Tuesday. Again feeling chilly with highs of 13C.

The rain will push across Wales during Monday evening and should be clearing after midnight, which sets us up for another day of sunny spells and showers on Tuesday. Tuesday also sees the highest astronomical tides of the year could cause some flooding. The Environment Agency Wales has issued a low-risk warning for this in their 3-day flood forecast for parts of Newport and Monmouthshire.

Yellow warnings to be aware of heavy rain have been issued by the Met Office for Wednesday and Thursday for the southern half of Wales, there could also be gales around. This could lead to further flooding issues, particularly if there are sustained period of rain.
