Two people pictured carrying a baby across train tracks have been condemned as 'mindless' and ‘reprehensible’ by British Transport Police.
CCTV footage from the afternoon of Tuesday 9 October shows the pair crossing the tracks at Eastbrook railway station in Dinas Powys after getting off a train.
A man is seen to carry a baby in a pushchair from one side of the tracks to the other.
Inspector Mike Jones, officer in charge at British Transport Police Cardiff, said he was ‘genuinely shocked’ by the footage.

It is staggering that people are still willing to risk everything by entering the railway – doing so with a baby in tow simply defies belief. Their behaviour is utterly reprehensible. Parents and adults should be leading by example, taking responsibility and emphasising the dangers to children. The few seconds saved by crossing the tracks could end up costing your life.
CCTV footage of the incident has now been released in a bid to trace the two.
Police say they also hope the footage will serve as a 'stark warning' to others who might be tempted to take a short-cut across the tracks.
