For some it's a blue sky day with glorious sunshine which at least makes up a little for the cold temperatures. For others there's some more cloud and with it some rain.
The rest of the day can be summed up by saying, what you have now, you'll have the same this afternoon. Whether that be sun, cloud or rain.
It's going to be chilly with highs of 6-7C. That's chilly enough on it's own but add a brisk northerly wind and it will feel much colder.
Overnight the odd shower continues in the west but elsewhere expect clearing skies and another cold night. It'll be close to, or just below freezing, expect a widespread frost and the chance of the odd slippery surface by dawn.
Saturday starts with more winter sun, but through the morning it will turn cloudy from the NW. As the day progresses a warm front brings light to moderate rain to northwestern counties through the afternoon. Whilst it's a warm front, it won't feel warm, in fact it will be a touch cooler than today with highs of just 5-6C.
