To mark the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Welsh Prime Minister, David Lloyd George an exhibition of political cartoons is being staged at the Pier Head building in Cardiff Bay. Some are sketches by newspaper illustrators who were his contemporaries when he was playing out his destiny on the political stage.

Others are more recent, like Cardiff artist Dan Peterson. He says he has been inspired by looking at the rich source of archive material that is available.

But Dan is also a war artist and has recently returned from a spell at Afghanistan with the army.

He thinks the artist still has a role to play in war zones, despite living in a technological age.

The exhibition continues until the end of the month.
