Mid-Wales shed crowned best in Britain

A mid-Wales shed made entirely of recycled materials has been crowned the best in Britain.

The 'Boat-Roofed Shed' fought off fierce competition from over 1,900 other creative garden dens across the country to scoop the title.

The shed, which sits 750ft above sea level in the Cambrian Mountain range near Machynlleth, contains a wood burner, sound system, gas cooker and refrigerator.

Owner Alex Holland said he was 'absolutely delighted' to have won, adding: "I intend to buy a second-hand wind turbine to augment the solar panel to give me enough electricity to make ice in the fridge for gin and tonics, and to ensure the cider and beers are always chilled."
