The wind is an issue for the evening ahead. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for the wind until 9pm this evening. Gusts are widely expected to reach 50-60mph but up to 70mph on exposed western facing coasts.
Overnight showers continue and these could be heavy and thundery, it will continue to be rather windy. It will be a cool night with lows of 5C, in spite of wind.
Sunday sees some good sunny spells around, particularly in the south east. It continues to be windy with heavy thundery showers drifting around. During the afternoon the showers continue in the north, where in the south rain begins to arrive later in the day.
That rain will roll in to southern and central parts of Wales overnight before clearing by Monday morning. That leaves us with some sunny spells to start the week before more showers turn up on Tuesday. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be breezy days with more rain arriving on Wednesday.
