A cold and wintry night

A cold night with scattered showers, most frequent in the north and west, these becoming increasingly wintry with slight accumulations of snow possible over high ground. Clear spells between the showers will allow a frost and icy patches in places. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Tuesday will start cold, with sunny spells and wintry showers, particularly near western coasts. Some accumulations over higher ground. The MET Office has issued a Yellow Warning of Ice for the morning and some potentially difficult driving conditions.

Frost soon developing during Tuesday evening as the showers and wind ease. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Unsettled on Wednesday with gales, rain and some hill snow for a time. Thursday and Friday, brighter with isolated wintry showers fading. Remaining cold with overnight frosts and brisk winds.
