Cardiff City take on current Premiership Champions Manchester United later today, setting up the prospect of Wales legend Ryan Giggs meeting his hometown club for the first time in his career.

Giggs, who turns 40 later this month, has never played the Bluebirds in a career spanning more than two decades. If he features this afternoon, it will be the 117th different side he faces.

Ahead of the clash Cardiff manager Malky Mackay said Giggs was his favourite player of the last 15 years, and he very much hoped he would feature at the City Stadium this afternoon.

I think you look at how he has conducted himself professionally through his whole career and he just looks a model pro.

The way he has kept his body and how his game changed when his pace went, and his thought process in terms of how to play.

Even the way he started to adapt his body through using yoga to allow him to play into his 40s, he has been an absolute star and he is obviously an iconic figure here for what he has done for Wales

Cardiff City v Manchester United kicks off at 4pm.
