Although Swans fans might have found it hard to imagine three points coming from the weekend's clash with Chelsea at the Liberty , it was hard to taste a defeat which brought the side a step nearer the relegation zone.

The only goal of the match came from the boot of Demba Ba, his third goal in six days after playing a major role in Chelsea's win at Stamford Bridge against PSG in the Champions league.

The Swans weren't helped by the sending off of Chico Flores, who achieved two yellow cards in the space of two minutes leaving the Swans to cope with ten men for the rest of the afternoon.

He made his apologies on twitter.

But Monk, who was clearly disappointed managed to deliver an upbeat message despite now being only three points clear of the drop zone . But with four games left untill the end of the season, Monk reckons if the team show the same determination, they should manage to cling on to their place in the premiership.

The fans sang their hearts out, deafening any refrains from the Chelsea visitors and received this accolade from player Jonjo Shelvey

But the fact remains, Swansea City must get some more points under their belt and with the teams they have yet to play which include Southampton and Sunderland a few wins look possible.

The Swans next play Newcastle United away on Saturday April 9th.
