Body of Blackwood grandmother returned to home soil

The body of Blackwood grandmother Trudy Jones has been repatriated to the UK, along with eight other victims of the Tunisian beach massacre.

Ms Jones's coffin was carried from an RAF C-17 transport plane at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire earlier this evening.

A total of 30 British nationals died when gunman Seifeddine Rezgui opened fire on a beach in the resort of Sousse last Friday.

A minute's silence will be observed tomorrow in memory of those who died. A special service is being held in Ms Jones's hometown of Blackwood tomorrow morning.
