Toyota is to build next generation hybrid engines at its Deeside plant in north Wales for a future Toyota crossover model.
The car will be based on the company’s C-HR concept vehicle.
The new engine production bring with it an extra £7m in investment by Toyota Motor Europe, which includes grant support of more than £700,000 from the Welsh Government.
The decision helps secure existing jobs at the plant, says the company.
