First UKIP AMs sworn in at Welsh Assembly

Four of Ukip's seven AMs have been sworn in.

It signals a major breakthrough for the party in Welsh politics after winning their first place in the Senedd.

Gareth Bennett, Mark Reckless, David Rowlands and Wales leader Nathan Gill took the oath of office today.

This is the first time that Ukip will have elected a pretty big group to a domestic parliamentary institution because we've only got one MP in spite of the fact that we've got four million votes.

We have seven members in a 60 seat assembly.

So we are a force to be reckoned with and I think people are going to know that we're there.

– Neil Hamilton AM, UKIP
