In a move to boost digital inclusion across the county, Barry Island has become the latest venue to offer free Wi-Fi to users.

The council hopes the free Wi-Fi will attract visitors from all over the country to enjoy the famous seaside resort.

Thanks to businesses like Bay 5 and John’s Café for hosting two of the access points, we are the first seaside resort in Wales to offer this service.

We hope that visitors will make the most of the coverage and share pictures of themselves enjoying all that Barry Island has to offer.

We have invested much in the regeneration of Barry Island and it’s great to see more people enjoying the resort all year round.

Having access to Wi-Fi on the beach will make it even easier for visitors to book a beach hut, share pictures of their day and generally spend more time outdoors.

– Cllr Lis Burnett, Deputy Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council
