Welsh towns make seaside league for house price rises

Porthcawl has been named in a list of the top 10 seaside towns to see a rise in property values.

According to figures from Zoopla, properties in the town cost an average of £237,939 - a rise of almost 8% compared to the same time last year.

Llandudno also made the list, with a similar rise in prices, bringing the average cost of property to £196,074.

Whilst this might be good news for homeowners, buyers looking for a cheaper seaside retreat in Wales might want to head to Rhyl.

The North Wales town came in sixth on the list of seaside towns with the lowest property values.

The average property there is valued at £134,577.

In June this year, property website Rightmove said the average house price in Wales as a whole was on the rise, with the average asking price now £185,145.
