Vintage pleasure cruiser MV Balmoral is steaming through a busy summer schedule of trips across the Bristol Channel and will venture through Welsh waters today visiting the Steep Holm and Flat Holm islands.

It's the second season for the much-loved vessel which made a return for the first time in three years in 2015 after volunteers raised more than £300,000 to revamp her.

Built in 1949, the Balmoral was hugely popular in the late sixties with thousands of passengers leaving Cardiff Docks for day trips to English resorts like Ilfracombe, Weston and Minehead.

There were doubts over whether the ship could be financially kept afloat, with maintenance and fuel costs exceeding £50,000 a week but with the success of last season the ship has been able to return.
