An appeal has been launched after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted as she travelled on a train from Cardiff.

The 17-year-old girl was travelling with a friend on the 2244 Cardiff Central service to Treherbert. Police believe she was repeatedly touched inappropriately by a man set next to her.

This was a shocking and distressing experience for this girl. No one should ever be subjected to this sort of behaviour and my priority is to make sure the person responsible is traced and brought to justice.

“Having conducted extensive enquiries into this incident, I would now like to appeal to any passengers who were on the train to please come forward.
