Council tax rises "not more than 5%" says Finance Secretary

After several years of deep cuts in the money the Welsh Government gives to local councils, none of them will lose more than 0.5% next year.

Some will even get a modest increase but that will still be wiped out by inflation.

Finance and Local Government Secretary, Mark Drakeford, says he's giving local authorities a period of stability and he expects them to respect the convention that council tax doesn't go up by more than 5%.
