An iconic pub has been sold for almost twice the listed price.
The Swansea Jack sold for £140,000 after five telephone bidders locked horns with as many in the auction room to secure the Swansea pub.
The famous watering hole for Swansea City fans before and after games at the former Vetch Field was listed for £75,000.
Closed since 2015 the end terrace property on Oystermouth Road, Swansea, was sold at auction on behalf of Swansea City Council as, they said, it was surplus to their requirements.
It is understood the new owner has plans to refurbish the building for his own use.
The property, which may be converted subject to obtaining planning permission for change of use, provides a main bar and seating area, toilets, a barrel room and entrance hall with a flat above that contains a lounge, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
