Justin Bieber fans are being urged to plan ahead for the pop star's concert at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Friday night.

Gates will open to fans at 4pm and with 40 000 people expected to be in the city, the council is warning there will be a small road closure pre-event with Westgate Street, Park Street and Scott Road closing at 6pm.

After the event, as people leave the stadium, the road closures will be extended to cover parts of Cowbridge Road East, Castle Street, Duke Street and Wood Street.

Arriva Trains Wales is advising all customers that Cardiff Queen Street Station will close at 9.45pm and there will be a post event queuing system at Cardiff Central. There will be limited extra services after the concert and customers are advised to return directly to Cardiff Central after the concert - details here.

Only small bags, no larger than 35cm x40cm x19cm will be allowed into the stadium.

Those travelling by car are being strongly advised to use the Event Park & Ride Facility at Cardiff City Stadium in Leckwith. Given that this event is taking place on a week day, city centre car parks are expected to be busy.

The following roads will be closed between 6pm and 11.30pm

- Westgate Street

- Park Street

- Scott Road

On safety grounds, if it is required, the council is able to close Wood Street, Lower St Mary's Street, with a lane closure on Cowbridge Road East adjacent to Gate 1.

After the event between 10.30pm and 11.30pm - the additional road closures will be:

- Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Road to its junction with Westgate Street.

- Castle Street, Duke Street and Wood Street.

Trains

All customers are being advised to buy a ticket (return if needed) from the first available ticket dispenser/office or from the Arriva Trains Wales Ticket app before you board the train. Revenue Protection Teams will be operating during this event. As with all large events in Cardiff, all customers are advised to plan ahead.

Event Park & Ride - Cardiff City Stadium

The Event Park & Ride is at Cardiff City Stadium (Leckwith).

Cost is £8 if you pre-bookthrough or £10 payable in cash on the day.

Staff will be available at the car park from 12 Noon, will open with the first bus at 12.30pm and the last bus will leave the pick-up point at 11.30pm.

You can access the park & ride facility by exiting the M4 from Junction 32. The drop off point is Tresilian Way North, at the rear of Cardiff Central Train Station.

Event-Day parking

Sophia Gardens - Event-day parking will be available at Sophia Gardens and will cost £15 in cash on the day. No pre-booking is available.

The car park will be staffed until 11.30pm. To get to Sophia Gardens exit the M4 via junction 32.

Civic Centre - Access to the Civic Centre will be controlled, with access allowed only for event-day parking, loading and access to private car parks. The roads affected include, King Edward V11 Avenue, Museum Avenue, City Hall Road, College Road and Gorsedd Gardens Road. The cost is £15 payable for each car in cash on the day or £12 if you pre-book.

Coach parking

Coach parking is available in the Civic Centre and costs £20 per coach, payable in cash on the day. No pre-booking is available.

Disabled parking

Disabled drivers are advised to use Sophia Gardens. Additional capacity is also available at various private car parks. Please check individual websites for availability.

Buses

Buses will be diverted out of the central city centre bus stops. Bus displaced from stops within the closure will relocate to either Churchill Way for the East. Greyfriars Road for the North and Tudor Street for the West. Please visit the various bus operators for changes to their services:

Shopping Parking

Shoppers are advised to make use of the dedicated Shopping Park & Ride sites at Pentwyn or County Hall.

NCP - Adam Street, Dumfries Place and Greyfriars Road

National Express - National Express coaches will use Sophia Gardens as usual.

Taxis - St Mary Street taxi rank (outside the House of Fraser) will be closed from 6.00pm and will re-open from 11.30pm.

Mill Lane Taxi Rank will not affected and open throughout the day and night.
