The Welsh Government says it is looking at changing some health board boundaries.
In a Senedd statement by former health minister and current Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government, Mark Drakeford said: "we propose that Cwm Taf Health Board boundary should be adjusted to include the Bridgend local authority area."
This was set out in the context of proposals over local government reform across Wales.
Mr Drakeford added: "discussions have taken place with the Council and with Local Health Boards. We recognised the good relationships that exist between the Council and Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Health Board, as well as between the Council and its neighbouring authorities."
A formal consultation on the proposals will now be drawn up and a further statement will be issued in the Autumn, say the Welsh Government.
It's understood there are no plans to re-draw other health board boundaries.
