Seven newborn kittens have been found after they were dumped in carrier bag and 'left in a bush to die'.

Four of the kittens are now in RSPCA Cymru care after they were discovered in Abercynon by a member of the public on Wednesday (16 August).

Two of the seven kittens were found dead, while another, initially seen to be gasping, later died. A mother cat to the kittens was nowhere to be seen.

RSPCA inspector Nic de Celis said:

Sadly, two of the kittens were found dead, and another passed away soon afterwards. If a passer-by hadn't found this carrier bag, all seven would likely have died.

The charity is urging anyone with information about how the kittens were dumped in this way to get in touch.
