French Bulldog found hairless and with serious injury in Cardiff

Do you recognise Poppy? Credit: RSPCA Cymru

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a French bulldog was found hairless and with a serious prolapse.

The dog - who has been nicknamed Poppy - was handed into Cardiff Dog’s Home on 26 November.

The home then contacted RSPCA Cymru. She was found hairless due to mange and had a prolapsed anus.

Poppy, aged a year-and-a-half, has since received a series of treatments for her skin and has undergone surgery to fix the prolapse.

She was found in a pretty awful state, bless her. She has received lots of treatment for her skin and has had surgery. She is recovering well but has some way to go.

Poppy is absolutely gorgeous and is a really friendly dog. She is growing stronger by the day and is doing really well in our care.

We’re appealing for information to see if anyone recognises her to help us with ongoing enquiries. It has been reported that she was found in the Ely area of Cardiff.
