Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association following his dismissal against Reading on Monday.

The Bluebirds boss was sent from the touchline in the 78th minute by referee Steve Martin in the 2-2 draw at Reading. Warnock later described his dismissal as "a travesty".

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has been charged with misconduct following his sending-off during the game against Reading on Monday, December 11, 2017. He has until 6pm on Friday, December 15 to respond.

– FA statement

Speaking after the match, Warnock criticised Martin and fourth official Andy Woolmer.

It's the first time I've sent off for asking a fourth official in a sensible way about a player arching their back.

I don't know whether Woolmer was panicking a bit because he's very experienced.

I called him over and I suppose the referee is going to enjoy that, isn't he? It's his big night.

I'm 69, I've been in the game 37 years and I've never been sent off for anything as trivial as that.
