Storm Ali to brings gusts of over 70mph to Wales

The first named storm of the season, Storm Ali, has arrived in Wales.

Gusts of 77mph have been recorded at Capel Curig.

The Met Office has issued a yellow 'be aware' warning.

Southern parts of Wales could reach continued unseasonable high temperatures but it will feel cooler due to the strong winds.

The Met Office says even areas outside the official weather warning are unlikely to escape wet and windy conditions.

North Wales Police has said it is receiving a large volume of calls and requesting people report incidents to the correct authorities.

Meanwhile there are strong winds and restrictions on the M48 Severn Bridge in both directions between J1(Aust) and J2(Chepstow).
