Twenty-year-old Jade Owen needed to raise £60,000 to pay for the spinal surgery in the US. She was anonymously gifted £37,000 she needed to pay for the procedure.

It meant Jade could fly the 4,000 miles to Missouri to get the treatment, which is not available on the NHS in Wales. Thanks to the surgery, she is now able to walk with assistance.

Jade underwent a selective dorsal rhizotomy aimed at reducing spasticity - and two other operations for her cerebral palsy.

She has needed a wheelchair since she was 11-years-old and Jade is delighted with the results.

Being able to sit without falling over is amazing. I used to sit with loads of pillows around me and now there's just one - that's a massive step for me.

Now I want to help other people who are in the same situation as me with fundraising.

I’ve always wanted to do musical theatre and I’ve also been accepted to do modelling. It’s very exciting.
