Wales ready for Grand Slam

The build-up gets underway for Wales' crunch Six Nations match against France

Live updates

Half-time score: Wales 10-3 France

Wales stand five points ahead of France at half time, despite missing two penalties.

Fans first observed a minute’s silence to remember former Wales captain and Lions star Mervyn Davies, who died this week at the age of 65.

France put the first points on the board with a penalty by Dimitri Yachvili.

But a superb try by Alex Cuthbert at 21 minutes, converted by Leigh Halfpenny, put Wales firmly in the lead.

Another penalty by Halfpenny added three to the difference.

Stars' Grand Slam support

Wales footballer Robert Earnshaw has sent his best wishes to fellow Welsh sportsmen.

Former Wales captain Gareth Thomas has tweeted his support.

Even former England captain Will Carling has predicted another Grand Slam for Wales.
