Watchdog investigates police, after woman dies in crash
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating actions and decision-making in a South Wales Police control room, after the death of a woman in a crash. Jennifer Evans, 31 and from Merthyr Tydfil, was a passenger in a stolen van which crashed on the A4061 Rhigos Mountain Road in May.
IPCC Commissioner for Wales Tom Davies said: "The investigation will focus on the actions and decision-making within the control room. Our investigators will also look at this in relation to force training and policies. We will publish our findings in due course."
A man has been charged in connection with the incident on 24 May.
Man charged with causing death by dangerous driving
A 24-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and aggravated vehicle theft, after a woman died following a crash on the A4061 in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Jennifer Evans, 31, sustained fatal injuries when the van she was travelling in left the A4061 Rhigos mountain road during the early hours of Thursday 24 May.
The man will appear at Pontypridd Magistrates' Court later today.
