The Welsh Government has published its plans to improve the numeracy skillls of every child in Wales. It will involve tests for all youngsters from the age of five to 14.
Our correspodent Carl Edwards has been hearing about the changes and what teachers think of them.
A national numeracy plan for Wales has been launched aimed at 5 to 14 year-olds. The Education Minister wants to challenge what he says is "the established attitude that not being good with numbers" is somehow more acceptable than not being able to read.
