Rhondda Jesus stolen

A church in the Rhondda is appealing for help after a model of the baby Jesus was stolen from its nativity scene. The theft took place during a service at the Blaencwm Chapel near Treherbert.

Rhondda Jesus theft: "It just doesn't make sense"

"We were in there having a prayer meeting on Tuesday, and had the gates open" explained minister Ralph Upton.

"Obviously, people stole it while we were having the prayer meeting".

"It just seemed like a pointless action" says Irene Pearce, a local councillor.

"People have been sad and asking why people would do that. It just doesn't make sense"

A church in the Rhondda is appealing for help after a model of the baby Jesus was stolen from its nativity scene.

The theft took place during a service at the Blaencwm Chapel near Treherbert. The doll had been part of the nativity scene for the last ten years.
